BPC Europe 2022: Key Takeaways

Having recently attended my first APMP BPC Europe event, it was something I approached with a mix of emotions. The overriding emotion was excitement, the prospect of meeting new people in a new industry is something I have enjoyed doing throughout my career. The excitement was followed by a little nervousness, I was only in my second week at Xait as Global BDM for XaitProposal and XaitRFI!

I knew from researching the event that the attendees at the conference would be the best of the proposal and bid writing world so I needed to be on my A game. I was fully prepped for the event having spent the week prior in Xait HQ in Stavanger learning about the products I would be representing. My colleagues Jacob Cooper and Nina Bauer who also attended, were incredible in making sure I was ready to engage with conference attendees and potential clients.

Once the conference got under way, it became quickly apparent that the APMP members are fantastic at making newbies to the industry like myself feel welcome. Everyone was open to talk and help with the sharing of knowledge and information. Over the course of the two days, I met and spoke to some brilliant people from a variety of industries which included logistics, pharmaceutical, construction, engineering, IT and media to name a few.  Every conversation led me to understand more the challenges proposal and bid writers face on a daily basis and more importantly how Xait products can help meet those challenges head on.

The learnings from the talks and seminars was invaluable, with some great presentations by Christopher Kaelin from CSK Management, Anne Journee from Fedex, Jos Dirx and of course Xait’s very own Jacob Cooper.

It was a real pleasure to spend some time speaking with Rick Harris, Executive Director of the APMP who with his energy and knowledge epitomises what the APMP represents. Also a massive thanks to Julia Duke who was invaluable throughout in making sure we had everything we needed to have a successful time at the conference.

In summary, if you work in the proposal and bid writing arena and you haven’t yet attended any events by the APMP I strongly recommend it. As a first timer it was a fantastic experience and I am already looking forward to attending more.
