I was once told that it is only the smartest people that buy XaitPorter. I am not sure if this is true, however a common trait among the XaitPorter application owners is that they are ambitious for themselves and the company they work for. They want to win, and they want to improve.

Late 2007, I had a presentation of XaitPorter to a team of eight people at a global EPC contractor. They had just made a big blunder in a tender they had worked on for a long period of time - from capture planning about 18 months prior to the tender to submission. How could this go wrong? In any event, the meeting had 8 people attending. They were all positive to XaitPorter, apart from one, as they could see that many of the challenges they had were due to working with files with multiple stakeholders and contributors. XaitPorter was a success from day one. Guess how many in that room had been promoted by the end of 2008? Seven. Guess who had not been promoted. Now, I am not saying that XaitPorter necessarily was the only reason, but it shows that ambition and interest for the common good of the company can be a driver of success.

The Catalyst

A few years later in 2012, I had a meeting with another global enterprise. They had started the implementation of XaitPorter, and wanted to expand their use. A sales coordinator was made responsible for XaitPorter as a regional business process owner. Now, many years later this is one of our larger clients. And the sales coordinator? The person is now an Executive Vice President. Why did this happen? The ambitious sales coordinator wanted to improve their process to win more business, which they did. The person was instrumental in not only regional growth in sales, but global, due to a better bid process. Now, this is not only XaitPorter - but XaitPorter was the catalyst.

Late 2018 a truly global enterprise, operating in multiple industries, had an initiative to improve business processes. One of the areas of improvement was their bid process and solutions to support, not an evolution - but a revolution, for their business. Again I was lucky to be involved in the process, again our prospects were a smart and ambitious team wanting to better their process. With a successful implementation, significant time savings and increased win rates - again the application owners were promoted.

Late 2019, an industrial automation company was formed by two global enterprises. Their discussions prior to the company being officially formed was how to get the most out of their sales organization from day one. Among the initial participants there were some leaders that early on said that a solution such as XaitPorter was vital for their sales enablement process. Then Covid came and delayed their purchase process, but in 2021 they signed with Xait for XaitPorter - and again, promotions.

As a company, Xait has multiple cases like this across our product portfolio, XaitPorter, XaitCPQ, XaitProposal and XaitRFI.

What is the common denominator for the XaitPorter champions here? The hunger to improve as a team. To become more efficient, and improve quality. Win more business. So, who do you want to be in the room? The one looking for continuous improvement, or the one looking for status quo. Remember what Einstein said: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
